Manager, Email Marketing

We need someone whose primary skill set is developing an email strategy (how we segment customers, frequency, and content direction to motivate behavior), developing and executing tactics to increase subscription, be responsible for email analytics (what's working, what's not) and manage email execution every day. The Email Marketing Manager will lead idea generation, set priorities and manage deliverables with our creative team. The primary measures of success for this role are revenue generation and email community growth.

Reporting to the Director of Digital Marketing, the Email Marketing Manager will be responsible for the following:

  • Developing, implementing and managing all aspects of the company's email marketing strategy
  • Development of email calendars, maintaining alignment with promotional calendars to ensure marketing messages are consistent across channels
  • Project manage all email deliverables and execute day-to-day operational tasks to support daily email schedule
  • Monitoring campaign performance and reacting quickly to deviations from plan
  • Reporting on campaign performance weekly, monthly, quarterly, annually
  • Regularly conducting measurable A/B tests on subject line, creative, copy and landing pages to drive engagement and increase conversion
  • Partnering with Merchandising, Creative and Social teams to generate content for emails
  • Identifying new opportunities to drive revenue through personalization and growth of automated campaigns
  • Building, maintaining and optimizing triggered lifecycle campaigns
  • Utilizing ESP to build, test and deploy email campaigns
  • Testing and QA of campaigns to ensure quality and deliverability
  • Email cadence, segmentation strategy, content requests, creative recommendations and creative accuracy
  • Developing acquisition tactics to facilitate healthy ongoing growth of file, while collaborating with Marketing team on larger campaigns such as sweepstakes, etc.
  • Overall list health, engagement, hygiene and deliverability

The role is based in NYC (Times Square).

Specific qualifications we are looking for include:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college
  • 5 years of experience leading email marketing for a B2C
  • Outstanding attention to detail with superior time, project management and analytical skills
  • Analytic and quantitative skills balanced with creativity and passion
  • Strong oral and written communication
  • Ability to decipher and tweak HTML code
  • Ability to build relationships and work cross-functionally with Creative, Merchandising and external agencies
  • Experience with outside vendors. You not only know how to work with vendors, you know when vendors are necessary (or not)
  • Advanced Excel skills – you’re such a pro, people come to you for advice
  • Knowledge of email best practices, deliverability, CAN-SPAM legislation, email success metrics
  • Knowledge of email mobile-first strategies, dynamic content and email personalization
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a large number of email programs simultaneously
  • Extra credit: experience within the special occasion dress category or teenage/young adult demographics
