Marketing Intern, Summer 2018


In 1998 we started our first website,, with a simple premise: people should have access to the top special occasion dresses and they should be able to shop for them online.

Fast forward to 2018 and Occasion Brands has become the leading special occasion retailer online with three brands - PromGirl, SimplyDresses, and Kleinfeld Bridal Party. We are continuously growing and have plans to introduce new special occasion stores online under the Occasion Brands umbrella. We have also brought the PromGirl experience offline with the opening of our pop-up store this past January.



The Occasion Brands Marketing Team is seeking a Marketing Intern for the Summer 2018 session. This is the perfect opportunity for a hands on person to learn the ins, outs and everything in between in the world of fashion and technology. Occasion Brands is a top online retailer of special occasion fashions focusing on teen styles for prom, homecoming, formals and other events. As a member of our nimble team you will have an immediate impact on our business and see your ideas comes to life and your contributions put to immediate use.  If you are an independent, creative problem solver and like to laugh, Occasion Brands is the place for you.



  • Participate in day-to-day activities of the marketing team that support reaching our long-term and short-term goals
  • Help to manage partnerships and engage with our social media followers
  • Collaborate with other PromGirl departments to deliver the best possible customer experience
  • Dream up new ideas and strategies that deliver sparkle to our customers and encourage them to "Always Wear Your Invisible Crown"
  • Scour fashion blogs, magazines, and the social media sphere to keep a pulse on what our core demographic is talking about and thinking



  • Strong communication skills that are consistent and clear
  • Enthusiastic and excited to work with a team
  • Comfortable with websites and Internet usage
  • Proactive and creative individual who is not afraid to share new ideas
  • Demonstrate ability to interact and cooperate with marketing team and other employees within the company
  • Prepared to help out with additional duties and responsibilities as needed
  • Familiar with Google Drive (Google Sheets and Google Docs)



TERM:                       June - August 2018 (start and end dates are flexible)
SCHEDULE:             Flexible (typical internships are 15-18 hours/week)
COMPENSATION:    College credit with a small travel stipend
