In 1998 we started our first website, PromGirl.com, with a simple premise: people should have access to the top special occasion dresses and they should be able to shop for them online.

Fast forward to 2017 and Occasion Brands has become the leading special occasion retailer online with two brands - PromGirl and SimplyDresses.

We’re growing and have plans to introduce new special occasion stores online under the Occasion Brands umbrella. We’re also bringing the PromGirl experience offline as we set our eyes on opening a pop-up store in 2018.

While much has changed in the last 19 years, the original values on which we were founded have stayed the same: working together as a team and doing whatever it takes to deliver a positive customer experience. We are looking for the people who will help make the next 19 years just as innovative as our first 19.

DESCRIPTION:

The Occasion Brands Merchandising Operations Team is seeking a Merchandising Operations Intern for the Summer 2018 semester. This is the perfect opportunity for a creative hands-on person to learn how to write engaging content for an e-commerce company. As a member of our nimble team, your contributions will be put to immediate use and directly impact our business. If you are an independent, detail-oriented person who likes to laugh, Occasion Brands is the place for you.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

Research competitor category pages (what competitors offer for the styles and event categories on the site)
Create a training guide for categorization rules complete with examples based off guidelines provided
Update live category pages so that product included matches the category rules
Assist with inventory updates and automating inventory files and testing automated inventory files for accurate information

DESIRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:

Microsoft Office
Ability to provide and receive constructive feedback
Enthusiastic and excited to work on a team
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

INTERNSHIP DETAILS:

TERM: June - August 2018 (start and end dates are flexible)
SCHEDULE: Flexible (typical internships are 15-18 hours/week)
COMPENSATION: College credit with a small travel stipend
