Chief Marketing Officer

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

ROLE:
We need someone who has the ability to see the big picture and inspire others with leadership skills. Someone whose primary skillset is developing all-encompassing marketing strategies that promote the continued growth of our company and continuously deliver the best consumer experience possible.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the CMO will be responsible for the following:

  • Serve as key member of the executive team tasked with authoring/executing a strategic growth plan. 
  • Set digital marketing strategy for multiple brands, increase year-over-year sales and brand positioning.
  • Recruit, onboard and train additional marketing team members.
  • Identify/implement strategies to decrease customer acquisition costs, increase customer lifetime value.  
  • Allocate and manage overall marketing budget across channels.
  • Proactively manage marketing campaigns across multiple digital marketing channels including search (organic and paid), e-mail, retargeting, social, referral, etc.
  • Provide leadership in strategic/operational planning with marketing, messaging, and go-to-market plans.
  • Continually refine the marketing processes, procedures, metrics and tools (including management of third party vendors) that will enable the Company to scale.  
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of marketing standards, industry trends & emerging technologies.

LOCATION:
The role is based in NYC (Times Square).

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: a bachelor’s degree from a four-year college.  MBA is a plus.  
  • 10-15 years of digital marketing experience within an ecommerce environment.  Omni-channel marketing experience is a plus.
  • Demonstrated track record of increasing traffic, conversion rates and revenue growth across channels.  
  • Experience within the special occasion dresses category and teenage/young adult demographics.
  • Deep knowledge of building brands and managing teams. You love to tell stories through brands and can harness the power of human emotions to capture customer interest.
  • Experience managing a budget. You know how to make the most with what you have. When to save and when to spend.
  • Excellent communication skills. You have no problem effectively and professionally communicating and delegating internally (both upward and downward) and externally.
  • Outstanding attention to detail with superior time and project management skills.
  • A tendency to make decisions and craft strategy based on data (we have plenty of it).  
  • Personal qualities of high integrity, ability to take initiative, lead with confidence, and hold teams accountable; must possess sense of humor.

COMPENSATION:
Competitive annual base salary and cash bonus commensurate with experience. Potential for incentive equity.
