ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

ROLE:

We are seeking a founding member of our Data & Analytics team. Someone whose primary skill set is developing data analysis strategies (how we analyze data, the frequency for analyzing it, and what to do with it), executing the strategies and reporting on results (what's working, what's not). Our teams analyze department specific data already so the data scientist wouldn't have to analyze and report on all data alone but lead our data analysis efforts across the company and empower others to do the same within their own departments. The primary measure of success for this role is ensuring decision-making processes throughout the company rely on the best analysis possible.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as founding member of Data and Analytics team
  • Identify and communicate actionable insights based on analysis of company data (i.e. customer order attributes, inventory trends, product and shipping costs, margin analysis, etc.)
  • Function as primary liaison for how company utilizes data across departments to make business decisions
  • Support executive management with ad-hoc strategic projects

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college
  • 3+ years of experience in data and analytics management, preferably in an ecommerce environment.
  • Strong desire to create a dedicated analytics department in a growing ecommerce company through patient teaching of existing staff while instituting new thoughts and ideas into existing processes.
  • Significant experience with digital campaign reporting tools such as Google Analytics and Facebook Insights.
  • Advanced Excel skills – you’re such a pro, people come to you for advice.
  • Demonstrated deep knowledge of standard methodologies for collecting information such as tagging customer actions and then properly and quickly reporting results.
  • A passion for data (obviously, right?). You love running reports and deftly organizing. information. You’re skilled at synthesizing insights and succinctly communicating results. You get intense satisfaction from developing logical recommendations using data.
  • Clear communication skills. You have no problem effectively and professionally communicating with internal (team members) and external (vendors) constituents.
  • Excellent common sense judgment. You know the right questions to ask and you can get to the answers quickly without getting bogged down in overly complex analyses.
  • Experience with three statement financial modeling and developing powerpoint presentations is a plus
  • Bonus: Understanding and experience using, and potentially implementing, various BI solutions such as Microstrategy, Tableau, RJMetrics, etc.

WHAT WE OFFER:

  • A competitive salary with annual bonus potential
  • Medical, vision, dental and life insurance with low contributions from employees
  • Employee discounts
  • Free snacks and coffee (occasional company lunches too, cuz why not?!)
  • A culture that is family oriented, fun and a little out there (annual spirit week? CHECK. Flashpoll Friday CHECK.)

BY THE WAY!
We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status.
